Wi-Fi 6E module
The AsiaRF AW7916-NPD and three antennas: Wi-Fi 6E on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz at once, for the RISC-V Router (no WiFi) or as a spare.
In the box
- An AsiaRF AW7916-NPD Wi-Fi 6E mini PCIe module.
- Three antennas.
Installing it
About fifteen minutes, with the screwdriver that comes with the router.
The module is sensitive to static and its antenna connectors are small, so follow the step-by-step guide, with photos, before you open the router.
Works the moment it is seated
StartWRT carries the driver in its firmware image: no extra software, no configuration.
On the RISC-V Router, StartWRT runs the module on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz concurrently; 6 GHz is not used. On other boards it works with any Linux system that includes the mt76 driver, including OpenWrt.

Why it's sold separately
US wireless-device sales are subject to FCC requirements, so Start9 sells the router without a wireless radio to US customers. The Wi-Fi module and antennas are sold separately and installed by the customer.
